The West Central School Board members last week took a look at funding for the Career and Technical Education classes offered, according to Superintendent Don Street.
“The amount of funding is decreasing because of a formula change from the State,” explained Street. “Schools will no longer receive area participation money for hosting other students into programs.”
Street said the school corporation accepts students who are a part of the Indian Trails Cooperative and students who are outside of that cooperative.
They are able to offer a variety of Career and Technical Education classes to students.
“We have a welding program, agriculture program, health occupations, and a CNA program. We also have Advanced Manufacturing, a business program and Family and Consumer Science programs.”
It is not known how the funding how will affect the class offerings.
