Culver Town Council to Meet Tonight with Public Input Anticipated

The Culver Town Council members are seeking input tonight on facility rental fees and services offered at the Culver Town Park, including the Damore Amphitheater.

Discussion will be open on the allowance of alcoholic beverages inside the Culver Beach Lodge building during private rentals. If it is allowed, a deposit fee may be associated with the rental.

The council members are considering an amphitheater private rental fee of $100 for an off-season event and $145 for a summer season event. The rental would include the exclusive use of the amphitheater only. The beach and surrounding areas would remain open to the public. If a reception is held in the Culver Beach Lodge following an event at the amphitheater, a new rental fee and security deposit would be established for use of the beach lodge.

If a resident is unable to attend tonight, but would like to comment, a written comment may be submitted to Town Manager Jonathan Leist at jleist@townofculver.org by Dec. 20.

In other business tonight, the council will consider additional readings of the 2019 salary ordinance, along with an amendment to the easement agreement with Culver Academies regarding the Lake Maxinkuckee Trail Project. The town manager’s contract will also be discussed, among other reports given department heads.

The Culver Town Council members will meet at 6:30 p.m. ET at the Culver Town Hall at 200 E. Washington Street.
