Knox Board of Works Considers Demolition Bid

The Knox Board of Works members opened a single bid for the demolition of 313 Ostrander Court when they met last week.

Mark Milo Enterprises in Knox submitted the lone bid of $9,675.  Mayor Dennis Estok said the bid does not include asbestos abatement.  He explained that the home will need to be checked for possible asbestos.  If it is present, then a change order would need to be submitted for its remediation.  Estok stated he didn’t think there would be any, but the evaluation needs to be done.

Board member Jim Collins asked if funds will be available if the change order is presented.  Mayor Estok believes there will be enough to cover the cost if needed.

The board members approved the bid subject to review by Building Administrator Kenny Pfost and the city attorney.
