Culver Town Council to Discuss Rates for Damore Amphitheater at Next Meeting

The Culver Town Council members will continue their discussion on rates for the Damore Amphitheater in February.

During the last discussion held in December, council members are looking at setting the basic rental fee for the Damore Amphitheater at $145 for the summer and $100 the rest of the year, similar to what’s charged for the Beach Lodge. They would probably also implement an additional fee and a number of stipulations, if alcohol were to be allowed at the Beach Lodge. Town Manager Jonathan Leist suggested limiting rentals to six to 10 weekends a year.

Allowing alcohol at the Culver Beach Lodge is an issue the council is considering.  Police Chief Wayne Bean previously voiced concerns saying that he didn’t think allowing alcohol would be a good idea as he doesn’t believe that beverages would be restricted to the interior of the building.  Alcoholic beverages are not allowed at the beach at any time.

More consideration will be given during the council’s next meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 12.
