Winamac Town Council Meets Tonight

Winamac Town Council members will reorganize when they meet for their first meeting of the year tonight. In addition to electing the president and vice president, members will also consider a list of appointments.

During his Town Manager’s report, Brad Zellers will discuss an invoice from Midwestern Engineers as well as the volunteer fire department contract.

Clerk-Treasurer Melanie Berger also has a number of items for the council to consider this evening including a request for a water or wastewater adjustment, nepotism and conflict of interest documents for 2019 and revised versions of the salary ordinance and employee handbook.

Members will also hear progress reports from Water and Street Department Superintendent Jeremy Beckner, Wastewater Foreman Barry Day, Electric Superintendent Doug Shorter and Town Marshal Mark Hoffman.

The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. ET at the Winamac Utilities Complex, located at 623 W. 11th Street.
