La Porte County Sheriff’s Department officers are investigating an armed robbery incident at the Family Express at 7687 W. U.S. 20 Wednesday night.
Police say that three African American suspects approached the business late Wednesday night where one held the door open and the other two entered. While inside the business, two of the suspects reportedly jumped over the counter and then moved to the employee area. While one person allegedly brandished a hammer as a weapon, police say the subjects ordered the clerk to open the registers. They were able to gain $83 from the registers and then they fled on foot.
Police believe the suspects are about 5’6” to 5’9” in height and may be in their late teens to early 20s.
If you have information that may aid police in arresting the suspects, call La Porte County Sheriff’s Department Chief of Detectives, Captain Patrick Cicero, at 219-326-7700 ext. 2404.
