Pulaski County Council, Commissioners to Make BZA, Plan Commission, KIRPC Appointments

The Pulaski County Council and Commissioners are expected to make appointments to various boards and commissions tonight. Appointments to the board of zoning appeals, advisory plan commission, and Kankakee-Iroquois Regional Planning Commission will be discussed during tonight’s joint council and commissioners meeting.

Officials will also hear updates from Coroner John Behny. Last month, council members took the first step in giving Behny’s chief deputy a pay raise, following months of discussions. A tax software update and a pretrial release program grant will also be discussed.

Tonight’s joint Pulaski County Council and Commissioners meeting starts at 6:00 EST at the Pulaski County Courthouse, followed by the council’s regular meeting at 7:00. EMS Director Brandon DeLorenzo will talk to council members about the on-call pay level, as well as the pay rate for an assistant EMS director.

Meanwhile, council members will revisit Prosecutor Dan Murphy’s requests to hire an additional secretary and remove the victim’s assistance coordinator from the county’s salary matrix, to bring it in line with the conditions of a grant. Highway Superintendent Terry Ruff is expected to ask council members to create a new budget line item for the upcoming replacement of the bridge on County Road 400 East over Mill Creek.
