Community members have a chance to learn more about a paddle sport that’s been growing in popularity during tonight’s “Pickle Ball” presentation at the Nancy J. Dembowski Community Center.
The informative meeting about the sport that combines tennis, badminton and ping-pong will start at 6 p.m.
Presenter Pat Larkin is expected to explain the game, answer any questions and see if there is an interest in bringing this game made for all ages and skill levels into the community.
Knox Mayor Dennis Estok touched on the sport briefly at last week’s city council meeting.
He candidly stated, “I’ve already had quite a few people express an interest in that. It’s an up and coming sport that us old people can play, but it’s also for the young too.”
No RSVP is necessary. If you have any questions before the event, contact the Mayor’s Office at 574-772-4553.
