Knox Park Board Member Previews Summer Events, Discusses Park Projects

A car and bike show, outdoor concerts, and movies are just some of the events planned for this summer at Wythogan Park. The Knox School Board got an update last week from board member Gary Dulin, who serves as the school board’s representative on the Knox Park Board.

“May 25, we have the annual car and bike show,” Dulin said. “June 14, we have a mix of country and rock music at the band stage, and then we have a soul/acoustic show on July 20. August 17, we have American Graffiti Night. September 7, we have a Fall Bash with a band called Crossfire.” Dulin added that Movies in the Park will return May 29 and will be held every other Wednesday night during the summer.

As for some projects the Knox Park Board is working on, Dulin said there are plans in the works to add restrooms to Heritage Park, probably a prefabricated facility. Dulin mentioned that while there had been some discussion about widening the entrance to Wythogan Park, the park board is opting against that, since the narrow entrance gate serves as a traffic-calming device, slowing cars down has they drive into the park.
