Pulaski County Commissioners Choose Lawn Care Contractor

After months of discussions, the Pulaski County Commissioners have decided to keep TK Lawn Service as their mowing contractor. Maintenance Director Mia Salyers told the commissioners Monday that she went through the three bids the county received, broke down the costs, and determined that TK’s was the cheapest.

It calls for a $50 hourly fee for weekly lawn service, $65 per hour for shrub and brush trimming, and $110 for each fertilizer application, among other fees.

Now that a contractor has been chosen, Salyers needs money to cover those costs. She told the county council last week that her department has used up its entire Grounds Maintenance Fund on snow removal.

She asked for an additional appropriation, but Auditor Laura Wheeler said there might be some money in the commissioners’ budget that could be transferred. In the end, council members voted to transfer more than $13,000, if the money is available.
