Pulaski County Named Popcorn Capital of the U.S. by Washington Post

Pulaski County is now the popcorn capital of the United States. That’s according to a recent article from The Washington Post.

It looked at data from the USDA’s 2017 Census of Agriculture to determine the top-producing county for more than 100 different crops. It found that Pulaski County had taken over the “popcorn capital” title from Mason County, Illinois, following a surge in production.

As for other types of corn, The Washington Post reports that Brown County, South Dakota is the largest producer of grain corn, while Palm Beach County, Florida grew the most sweet corn.
