Winamac Town Council members took action to update their salary ordinance when members met earlier this month.
Clerk-Treasurer Melanie Berger told members that there was just one change that had to be made to the existing ordinance. She explained that they had to add in the Wastewater operator position.
Town Council President Tom Murray asked which town employee the adjustment pertained to. Clerk-Treasurer Berger responded that it has to do with former Wastewater Foreman Barry Day’s position.
She noted that there isn’t someone in the foreman’s position currently since Day is now the Wastewater operator. However, she said it will remain listed in the salary ordinance in case the spot is filled in the future.
Following that brief discussion, members cast a unanimous vote to approve the updated salary ordinance.
