Knox Mayor Issues Reminder About Parade Application Deadline

Applications for the City of Knox Independence Day Parade are due this month!

Mayor Dennis Estok issued a reminder during Tuesday night’s City Council meeting, noting that the deadline to turn in an app is Friday, June 28th. No applications will be accepted after that date and no exceptions will be made.

The City of Knox Family Fun Day and Fireworks Display will be held on Saturday, July 6th. The parade will begin at 1 p.m., with line-up and check-in starting at noon.

The parade is a chance for residents to show their hometown patriotic spirit. It also provides an opportunity for locals to promote their business, non-profit organizations, clubs and teams.

Entries can include floats, cars, motorcycles, horses, walkers, bands, tractors and even fire trucks and police vehicles.  You must indicate what your entry will include on your applications.

Completed applications can be turned in or mailed to the Mayor’s Office at 101 West Washington Street or they can be emailed to the Mayor’s Administrative Assistant Peg Travis at ptravis@cityofknox.net.
