National Weather Service Issues Updated Situation Report

The National Weather Service has issued an updated report about this evening’s weather conditions.

Officials say the latest situation report calls for isolated showers and storms, with the best chance for strong to severe storms between 7 p.m. and 1 a.m. ET.

The main threat will be damaging winds and hail. Due to the saturated conditions, minor flooding is also possible in low lying and other high-risk areas.

A strong cold front is expected to move from west to east across the area this evening. Predictive models suggest the front will move into the western counties between 7 p.m. and 9 p.m. ET and travel eastward through the 1 a.m. ET time frame.

NWS Officials report that these images are only a model simulation of what could happen. Exact location/timing of storms is uncertain
