NWS Issues Hydrologic Outlook for Heightened Risk of Flooding

The National Weather Service in Northern Indiana has issued a hydrologic outlook for the heightened risk of flooding this weekend and into next week.

Officials say heavy rainfall is expected, with total rainfall amounts of between 1.5 to up to 3 inches or more along and south of Route 24. With the ground already heavily saturated, additional rain will rapidly increase the onset of potential flooding issues.

There is the potential for flooding of low lying areas that are susceptible to flooding. Ponding on road surfaces is anticipated, with the potential for some roads to flood over which will cause hazardous driving conditions.  Additionally, expect to see flooding of creeks, ditches, and rises in river levels through next week.

No Watches or Warnings have been issued at this time.
