The Starke County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a semi-rollover accident on State Road 8 at Range Road.
Sheriff’s Department officials say the call came in around 10:50 a.m. on Thursday and that the driver was transported to Memorial Hospital in South Bend with unknown injuries.
The incident had State Road 8 closed for a period of time. Knox-Center Township Fire Chief Kenny Pfost says firefighters were on the scene for an extended period of time while wreckers worked to upright the semi. Firefighters also worked with LaPorte County Hazmat to clean up spilled hydraulic fluid, oil, and a small amount of diesel fuel.
Pfost says the road finally reopened around 2:15 p.m.
