Candidates wishing to file for office in a town convention can do so up until noon today.
Candidates can file for town council or clerk-treasurer positions in Hamlet, Medaryville, Monterey, and North Judson.
As of Wednesday, July 31, there were no contested races in Monterey and Hamlet so town conventions will not need to be scheduled, if no other candidates file by today’s deadline. There are contested races in North Judson and Medaryville and a single party candidate will need to be chosen to face a possible opponent in the November Municipal General Election. Those convention dates have not been set.
Candidates are reminded that campaign financial reports are due by noon on Friday, Oct. 18 in the clerk’s office.
