Knox Board of Works to Get Updates on Several Properties This Morning

The Knox Board of Works will get updates on code enforcement efforts at a number of properties this morning. The board had previously agreed to waive the fines on 253 West Locust Drive, if the owner could clean up the yard and remove vehicles and trailers by this past Monday.

Meanwhile, the city had been in the process of taking legal action over code violations at 1 & 3 North Main Street. At the nearby Starke County Republican Party headquarters building at 13 North Main Street, the owners were given until the end of the month to make extensive repairs, while the most recent deadline for the owner of 207 & 209 North Roosevelt Road was July 24.

Board members will also get an update on 253 East Washington Street and the Super Value Inn at 301 East Danker Street. They’ll also hear about code enforcement efforts at 504 East Culver Road and 425 Fear Court, and the superintendents will give their reports.

This morning’s Knox Board of Works meeting starts at 9:30 at Knox City Hall.
