With the Pulaski County Highway Department expecting a substantial fuel tax reimbursement, the county council has agreed to make funds available to pay the consulting firm that helped them get it.

Highway Superintendent Terry Ruff reminded council members last week that the county hired Malcon to find potential refunds. “Basically, I think the bill’s like $3,400 for their services, and they’ve got us $10,328 so far, so a no-brainer there,” Ruff said.

To allow Ruff to pay the bill, council members agreed to transfer $2,000 from the Salt line item to Service and Maintenance.
