The Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department expects to save about $2,000 by shifting some of the cost of dispatch software onto the towns. Sheriff Jeff Richwine told the county commissioners Monday that the county had unknowingly been paying the software license fees for some of the communities.
“With our CAD system and RMS – it’s all that stuff that we do with the computers in the deputies’ cars – we get so many licenses, and we have to pay for those licenses,” Richwine explained. “Well, somewhere along the line, those licenses got passed out to the town and the Town of Medaryville, so we were actually paying about a couple thousand dollars for these licenses.”
Richwine said Winamac and Medaryville are currently in the process of getting their licenses paid.
