Bid Opening for Knox Wastewater Plant’s Headworks Project Postponed

The Knox Wastewater Department has pushed back the bid opening for upgrades to the headworks at the Wastewater Treatment Plant. It had been scheduled for last week’s board of works meeting, but Wastewater Superintendent Kelly Clemons said it’s been postponed until September 24.

Another pre-bid meeting will be held next Friday. Clemons told board members that several contractors have expressed interest, and she’s hopeful that the city will get some good bids.

The city has been awarded a $700,000 matching grant through the Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs for upgrades to the plant’s headworks and pre-treatment system.
