Starke County Council, Commissioners to Meet Tonight

The Starke County Council and Commissioners will meet tonight where Todd Samuelson from Baker Tilly will talk about potential benefits of refinancing the jail bonds. 

Public hearings will also be held for the Starke County 2020 budget, along with budgets for Starke County Solid Waste, Starke County Airport, Koontz Lake Conservancy, and the North Judson-San Pierre School Corporation. 

The council and commissioners will also consider an additional appropriation for the North Judson-San Pierre School Corporation and for the Computer Aided Dispatch system, along with a court transfer and a Veteran’s Service Officer transfer.

In other business, Larry Wickert from the Starke County Economic Development Foundation will provide a monthly report, EMS Director Travis Clary will present a request for a vehicle, and IT Director Richard Franks will address Cloud storage. 

The joint session will begin at 5:30 p.m. CT followed by the regular meeting of the Starke County Commissioners. 

The commissioners will consider allowing permission to edit the Erie Trail on the GIS System and hold discussion on liability insurance. 

Both meetings will be held in the ground floor meeting room in the Starke County Annex Building No. 1 at 53 E. Mound Street in Knox.
