Oregon-Davis School Board Approves $9,000 Agreement for Social Media Help

The Oregon-Davis School Corporation is hiring some outside help with social media. The school board Monday approved an agreement with a company called #SocialSchool4EDU for the 2019-2020 school year, according to Superintendent Dr. Don Harman.

“What this firm will do, will manage our corporation’s social media, which will include Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube,” Harman explains. “Our staff will be trained to provide that information to this company, to promote our corporation. We are going to work with them for one year and see how that partnership works.”

Harman says those services will cost $9,000, but the school corporation will be able to cover that cost with grant funding, so it won’t impact the Education or Operations funds. Boosting O-D’s social media presence has been brought up as a way to help slow the school corporation’s enrollment decline and attract new students.
