Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office Rules on Knox House Fire

A fire that occurred at a home in Knox Wednesday was investigated by the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office on Thursday morning. 

Firefighters were called to the home on 50 S. west of Range Road in Knox shortly after 7 a.m. CT on Wednesday, Oct. 16 and they remained at the scene for several hours. 

Knox-Center Township Fire Chief Kenny Pfost said the cause of the fire is undetermined, as declared by the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office.  It started in the center part of the structure, which was deemed a total loss. 

The Knox-Center Township Fire Department was assisted at the scene by the Hamlet-Davis Township, North Judson-Wayne Township and the Washington Township Fire Departments, and Starke County EMS.
