The new Christmas decorations that were purchased for the Town of North Judson were recently delivered. However, there’s one more holiday that will be celebrated before citizens will see those speckling the streets.

Back in September, officials declared the Town will hold trick-or-treating hours from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Halloween night on Thursday, October 31st.

During this week’s meeting, Town Superintendent Joe Leszek indicated that once the spooky season wraps up, Town crews will start putting up the new holiday decorations within the first few weeks of November.

As previously reported, last month, council members unanimously approved a proposal from Temple Display that would allow them to pay $7,255 per year for the next 3 years in order to purchase a total of 42 decorations.

Those decorations include 16 snowflakes for the downtown area and 26 various holiday-themed tinsel decorations that will line State Road 10.

As the town has typically budgeted about $9,500 for decorations annually, this new arrangement has them coming in approximately $2,240 under budget.
