The West Central School Corporation is moving forward with plans outlined in the school’s Secured School Safety Matching Grant.
The school received its full request of $100,000. Superintendent Dan Zylstra updated the school board members last week that efforts being made to get bids on new locks and doors as part of the project at the Elementary School.
“I signed that contract the other day so it’s official,” said Zylstra. “It looks like we’re going to be able to use that entire $100,000 match so that will be very beneficial for our safety, some improvements at our school and also beneficial on the budget.”
New security cameras will be installed as part of the project.
