NJ-SP School Board Approves Bus Repairs During Special Meeting

The North Judson-San Pierre School Board considered the cost bus repairs at the request of Treasurer Guy Richie when members met in special meeting recently.

According to information submitted the board for consideration, bus #21, a 2014 International with 50,974 miles, is in need of engine repairs. According to Richie, as of Thursday, October 31st the bus was at Midwest Transit were it was evaluated by their mechanical staff.

Richie provided members with a list of Midwest Transit’s service estimates which included the cost of repairing the engine problems as well as needed parts. The cost totaled $16,040.92.

The Treasurer informed board members that Navistar, the company that manufactures International-brand buses, is willing to contribute $7,882.01 toward the repairs which would leave NJ-SP owing $8,158.91.

Superintendent Dr. Annette Zupin said board members provided unanimous approval to pay the cost to allow the repairs to be made.
