No Concerns Voiced during Hearing on Eastern Pulaski Teacher Contract

Eastern Pulaski’s proposed teacher contract drew no concerns during a public hearing Wednesday. Teachers would see a slight pay raise under the tentative 2019-2020 master contract agreement, according to Interim Superintendent Dr. Gib Crimmins. “It’s a small increase on the base scale and a small stipend,” he explained.

The proposal calls for a starting salary of $36,000. Returning teachers rated effective or highly-effective would get a $500 pay raise, plus a $400 stipend.

While a number of teachers attended last month’s regular school board meeting in a display of solidarity, no teachers or parents showed up to Wednesday’s official hearing. The agreement will be up for the school board’s approval on Monday.
