Police, K9 Track down Wanted Man in Knox

A man wanted for several felonies fled from police in an incident in Knox on Thursday, Dec. 12.

Police say 39-year-old Anthony Farris fled behind a residence in the 700 block of Pacific Avenue around 10:30 a.m.  Officers from the Knox City Police Department and deputies from the Starke County Sheriff’s Department set up a perimeter.  After a lengthy search, Knox City Police K9 O’Neill was able to track Farris as he hid in thick briar patch, according to the report.

Police reportedly warned Farris to reveal himself and he did not comply.  As a result, police say K9 O’Neill entered the area and was able to apprehend him.

Farris was treated and released at the hospital before being placed into custody.  He was booked into the Starke County Justice Center on a preliminary charge of resisting law enforcement. 

Suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
