Alyssa Shepherd, the driver involved in a fatal bus stop crash in Rochester, was sentenced to four years in prison in Fulton County Superior Court this afternoon.
The morning of October 30th, 2018 Shepherd struck and killed three children with her pick-up truck and seriously injured another while the students were crossing State Road 25 to board a Tippecanoe Valley school bus.
The student that was injured was Maverik Lowe, who was 11 at the time, and the children who passed away included 6-year-old twins Xzavier and Mason Ingle as well as their 9-year-old sister Alivia Stahl.
A WNDU report mentions that back in October, a jury unanimously found 25-year-old Shepherd guilty of three counts of the Level 5 Felony of reckless homicide, one count of the Level 6 felony of criminal recklessness and the Class A Misdemeanor of passing a school bus with the stop arm extended causing injury
The report goes on to say that Shepherd was facing a maximum sentence of 21.5 years in prison.

During today’s hearing, Shepherd was reportedly sentenced to one year in prison, one year of house arrest and one year of probation for each reckless homicide count.
The WNDU report also notes that Shepherd was sentenced to one year in prison for each of the other two charges and that time will be served concurrently for a total of one additional year.
That means she was sentenced to four years in prison, three years of house arrest, and three years of probation.
It was also stated that Brittany Ingle, the mother of the three students who were killed in the crash, allegedly attempted to charge Shepherd during the sentencing and was taken from the courthouse in handcuffs.
