Knox BOW Members Award Sandy Acres Concrete Bid

The Knox Board of Works considered bids associated with some concrete work that will be done at Sandy Acres Park when members met last Wednesday.

Three bids were considered; they came in from Pete Kuchel Concrete, Ed Philip Concrete and Covenant Concrete.

There was some discrepancy over whether a particular bid submitted had the number 1 or the number 7 as the first number. However, regardless of whether it was a 1 or 7, it didn’t change who the lowest bid was from.

The board members cast a unanimous vote to award the project to Pete Kuchel Concrete who submitted the lowest bid of $12,430.

The vote was conditional, with officials noting that the project with concrete accessories would only be awarded after Street Superintendent Jeff Borg and City Attorney Autumn Ferch reviewed the associated paperwork. Additionally, since there was such a big difference between the bids, officials wanted to check with Kuchel to make sure that the project was bid on accurately.
