Starke County Council, Commissioners to Meet Tonight

The Starke County Council members will meet tonight in joint session with the Starke County Commissioners where they will hear from Baker Tilly officials concerning a time table of a potential action of refinancing the jail bonds used to construct the Starke County Justice Center.

Starke County government leaders are looking at two different refinancing options in order to save the county money.

The council will also hear a proposal from Sheriff Bill Dulin about a new hire through a grant, consider an appointment to the P.T.A.B.O.A. Board, and review a request from Recorder Mandy Thomason about the purchase of office furniture and a new plat cabinet.

Starke County Economic Development Foundation Executive Director Larry Wickert will also present a monthly report.

The Commissioners will meet in a singular session following the joint session to consider an option to move forward with Bridge No. 158, make appointments to the building corporation and the park board, and review a maintenance request.

The block of meetings begins at 5:30 p.m. CT tonight in the ground floor meeting room in the Starke County Annex Building No. 1 at 53 E. Mound Street in Knox.
