Two LTAP Training Courses Scheduled in Knox

Starke County Highway Superintendent Rik Ritzler told the county commissioners last week that two LTAP training sessions are set in Starke County.

“It’s a very good thing for our county,” commented Ritzler.  “They usually do that in counties that are involved in the LTAP and training efforts for county governments.”

He said the first training session is Thursday, Feb. 20 at the Nancy J. Dembowski Community Center in Knox for LTAP PASER/Asset Management Training.  Ritzler said two spots are reserved for Commission President Charlie Chesak and Commission Bryan Cavender and eight other spots are occupied by highway department crews.  In all, 80 spots are open and 32 spots were filled already as of last week, one week after the sign-up process began.

All drivers will be going to an LTAP chainsaw training course on Thursday, May 14 at the Nancy J. Dembowski Community Center in Knox.

Other courses for road scholar training are set in South Bend, Indianapolis, and at Purdue Road School.  Starke County will have participants in all of those training sessions.
