Executive Order Lets Inactive EMS Professionals Return to Work during Public Health Emergency

Retired and inactive EMS professionals can now get back to work, as part of the fight against COVID-19.

An executive order signed by Governor Eric Holcomb Tuesday lets them provide supplemental health care services during the public health emergency without reinstatement by the Indiana EMS Commission, if they’re under the supervision of a licensed EMS or health care professional.

They can also get a temporary license or certification from the Indiana Department of Homeland Security to provide primary patient care.
