ISDH Releases New Information on Coronavirus Website

The Indiana State Department of Health released additional statistics regarding COVID-19 on its coronavirus website.

In addition to the daily update of the positive number of COVID-19 cases in the state and the number of deaths attributed to COVID-19, the number of ICU beds being used is included as well as ventilator usage, age ranges of the cases reported, and the percentages of population according to race and ethnicity of the patients.

The Indiana State Department of Health often times has duplicate reports of COVID-19 cases and officials state in a press release that numbers are updated daily after making “corrections based on updated information provided to ISDH.”  New reports of positive cases and deaths are included daily from the previous day.

Starke County Health Nurse Frank Lynch says 10 positive cases of COVID-19 are reported as of 9 a.m. CT on Monday, April 13.  One death was recorded.  Both of those statistics are currently not reflected on the state’s website.

Marshall County Commissioner Kevin Overmyer said the state’s count on Sunday indicated 19 cases.  He clarified during the Marshall County Council’s morning meeting on Monday, April 13 that there are duplicate reports so Marshall County only has 16 positive cases of COVID-19.  There are no deaths reported in Marshall County.

Pulaski County remains at one case reported to the Indiana State Department of Health.   No deaths have been recorded there.
