Starke County Commissioners Approve Polling Sites for Primary Election

The Starke County Election Board members presented the consolidated polling sites for the June 2 Primary Election for review and approval by the Starke County Commissioners.

Clerk Bernadette Manuel reminds voters that this will be a precinct-specific Primary Election.  Due to COVID-19 concerns, the polling sites were consolidated to help curb the spread of the virus. 

While Manuel stresses that no excuse absentee voting is available and ballots may be requested by calling the Clerk’s Office at 772-9128 or through the clerk’s Facebook messenger. 

The Starke County Commissioners did approve the polling sites as presented. 

California 1, California 2 and North Bend Township voters will cast an in-person ballot at the California Township Bass Lake Fire Department.

Washington 1 and Washington 2 Township voters will vote at the Washington Township Community Building.

Oregon 2 and Oregon 3 Township voters will vote at the Koontz Lake Property Owners Association Building.      

Davis, Oregon 1 and Center 6 Township voters will vote in-person at the James Hardesty Community Center.            

Center 1, Center 2, Center 3, Center 4, Center 5 and Jackson Township voters will be at the Nancy J. Dembowski Community Center in Knox.

Wayne 1, Wayne 2, Wayne 3, and Wayne 4 voters will vote at the North Judson-Wayne Township Fire Department.

Railroad Township voters will be at the San Pierre Fire Department.             

Manuel said efforts will be made to disinfect every voting machine following every voter’s use.
