Local Number of COVID-19 Cases Rises

The Indiana State Department of Health announced Monday that 511 additional Indiana residents have been diagnosed with COVID-19 through testing at the Indiana State Department of Health, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and private laboratories.

Locally, Marshall County recorded another positive case which brings the cumulative total to 34 residents diagnosed with COVID-19, according to the daily figures provided by the Indiana State Department of Health.  Pulaski County reported the same number as Sunday’s report which is 34 and Starke County has 21 positive cases.  La Porte County reported 329 cases and 12 deaths.

A total of 1,411 Hoosiers have died from the novel coronavirus which is an increase of 32 from Sunday’s count.  The state says 129 probable deaths reported.  Probable deaths are based on clinical diagnoses in patients who did not have a positive COVID-19 test.
