Knox Reopens More Park Facilities

More park facilities are reopening in the City of Knox. The pickleball courts, skate park, and bathrooms are now open, under an executive order signed by Mayor Dennis Estok Thursday.

The basketball courts, baseball fields, and softball fields may be used for practice and conditioning but no team competitions.  The dugouts remain closed, though. Also staying closed are the shelters, playground and exercise equipment, splash pad, and drinking fountains.

The parks may continue to be used for walking, hiking, running, or biking. Gatherings of up to 100 people are allowed to take place, but social distancing is required.

In his order, Estok reminds people to stay more than six feet apart, wash their hands often, cough or sneeze into their elbow, avoid touching their face, and stay home if they’re sick.
