Culver Man Sentenced after Pleading Guilty to Dealing Meth in River Park Square

A Culver man was sentenced to 17-and-a-half years after pleading guilty to dealing methamphetamine at a Plymouth park. As part of a plea agreement, David Hite, 47, admitted to selling meth at River Park Square on May 6, 2019, according to a Marshall County Prosecutor’s Office press release.

Six grams of meth was reportedly purchased by officers from the Marshall County Undercover Narcotics Investigation Team or one of their informants, during a controlled sale. The Prosecutor’s Office says it happened in the daytime when children were present, which increases the penalty.

The plea agreement was accepted Thursday by Marshall County Superior Court No. 1 Judge Robert Bowen. He sentenced Hite to 17-and-a-half years.

The first 10 will be served in the Indiana Department of Correction, followed by a suspended period of two-and-a-half years and then five years on non-reporting probation. Hite will have to take part in the Recovery While Incarcerated program, and his sentence may be modified if he successfully completes treatment.
