Starke County Commissioners to Meet Tonight

A public hearing is scheduled during tonight’s Starke County Commissioners meeting to provide information about how the Constellation of Starke Regional Stellar Communities finalist money will be spent. The county received about $333,000 to be spent on projects based on public input. 

The proposed projects include a restroom addition at Norwayne Field in North Judson, a new pavilion in Wythogan Park in Knox, a trailhead at Bass Lake and a pavilion at the Koontz Lake Beach. 

Additionally, Starke County Clerk Bernadette Manuel will present a resolution for the Vote Center Plan plus a Fire Eye non-disclosure agreement, while Starke County Economic Development Foundation Executive Director Larry Wickert will talk about SCILL Center funding. 

An update on the Starke County Government Mobile Food Delivery Program will be discussed along with a vacancy on the hospital board. 

Starke County EMS Director Travis Clary and Highway Superintendent Rik Ritzler are also expected to give updates.

The Starke County Commissioners will meet tonight at 6 p.m. CT at the Starke County Annex Building No. 1 at 53 E. Mound Street in Knox.
