Marshall, Starke, Pulaski Counties Report More COVID-19 Cases

Local COVID-19 cases continue to add up. Another eight Marshall County residents have tested positive, according to Saturday’s numbers from the Indiana State Department of Health. Starke County had another four positive cases, while Pulaski County had one new positive case.

Here’s where the totals currently stand for the three counties, following revisions and corrections:

  • Marshall County: 739 cases, 22 deaths
  • Starke County: 161 cases, seven deaths
  • Pulaski County: 71 cases, one death

The state as a whole reported 989 new positive cases. That gives Friday the second-highest single-day positive case total Indiana has seen, according to the state’s figures. Only July 23 had more positive cases.

Another six Hoosiers have died, bringing the total to 2,771, but that number is close to 3,000 if probable deaths are included. None of the new deaths were from Marshall, Starke, or Pulaski counties.

Almost 60 percent of state’s positive cases have been Hoosiers under the age of 50, but more than half of the deaths have been people age 80 and older.
