The Eastern Pulaski School Board approved a Request for Proposal involving the athletic field expansion project during their meeting at the end of last month.
Eastern Pulaski School Superintendent Dara Chezem told WKVI News several bids were awarded to break ground as soon as next week. Chezem stated the corporation is very excited to be finally moving forward with this project. She added the corporation had left over money from the 2015 construction project. Part of that project involved a new softball field on the corporation’s campus. Chezem stated due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the field was never able to be built.
This athletic field expansion project does include moving the softball field closer to the baseball field. It is proposed, the practice football field running north and south be made to run east and west allowing the current parking area near the baseball field to be expanded for both the baseball and softball fields to have more adequate parking.
Superintendent Chezem said the project is expected to be complete by September and will be ready for the spring season of 2024.
