The Knox City Council retained Jeff Berg as the President Pro Temp during their meeting last week.
The council also reappointed Nathan Bradley and Jeff Berg to the Redevelopment Commission. The council appointed Sherry Cowen, Donald Kring and Jeff Berg to the Planning Commission. The council then appointed Jeff Berg to the Starke County Economic Development Foundation and Bill Gustafson was reappointed to the Starke County Solid Waste District.
Mayor Dennis Estok then announced department head appointments. Autumn Ferch was retained as City Attorney, Jeff Borg as Street Superintendent, Tim Lindewald as Water Superintendent, Jason Clemons as Wastewater Superintendent, Dennis Fornelli was appointed Director of Parks and Recreation and Kenny Pfost as Deputy Chief and Fire Chief. Mayor Estok went on to announce Police Chief Harold’s Smith’s last day will be Tuesday, January 23. He stated Chad Dulin will take over as the new Knox City Police Chief Wednesday, January 24.
The mayor also reappointed Bill Gustafson to the Starke County Alcohol Beverage Board and Marcia Hayes, Mike Estok and Marsha Boggs on the Redevelopment Commission. It was also noted the council is in need of a K-IRPC representative.
Additionally, Jim Collins and Steve Dodge will continue as members of the Knox Board of Works.
