Kathryn was born on November 30, 1929 in San Pierre, IN to Delta and Agnes Hickman. She graduated from San Pierre High School in 1948. On April 21, 1955, she married Alban Bino Bau. They raised one son, Bryan, and four daughters, Annette, Dawn, Nina and Michele.
Kathryn was a homemaker and worked at North Judson High School in the cafeteria for 34 years. The students and teachers will remember her for her homemade yeast rolls. She was an avid baker, enjoyed gardening and helped with many farm chores. Friends and family will remember her delicious coffeecakes. Kathryn was a member of the Jackson Township Women’s Club and the Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church Christian Ladies. She enjoyed spending time with the retired cafeteria ladies Friday lunch group.
Kathryn is survived by her husband, Alban and her children Bryan, Annette (Robert Warkentien), Dawn (John Wallen), Nina (John Piwtorak) and Michele Walton (Frank Lonigro), 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 3 step-great grandchildren, sisters, Joyce Chesak, Sheryl Roller, and brother, Dale Hickman. She was preceded in death by her parents Delta and Agnes Hickman, granddaughter Tina Bau, grandson Justin Haluck, brothers Emery Hickman and Melvin Hickman.
Visitation will be held Thursday, September 24, 2020 at O’Donnell’s Funeral Home in North Judson, IN from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. (central time). A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020 at 10:30 a.m. (central time) at Ss. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church in North Judson, IN. Interment to follow at St. Jacob’s cemetery. Social distancing and wearing a mask are required.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be given to St. Cyril Methodius Catholic Church.
