Tax Preparation Appointments Still Available at Library
Slots are still available for the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance Program at the Henry F. Schricker Starke County Public Library branch in Knox. They will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Appointments are available on Wednesdays, March 23rd, 30th and April 6th, which is the final day for the program. Pulaski County’s Maintenance Director is making the case for upgrades to the Pulaski County Courthouse.
In an article submitted to local media by Jeff Johnstone, information is provided to residents of Pulaski County detailing exactly why the project is being undertaken. An effort is also made to counter some of the arguments being made against increased spending.

Hamlet Motel Raid Leads to Several Meth-related Arrests
Starke County investigators executed a search warrant in Hamlet on Friday only to come away with a handful of arrests.
The raid was conducted at the Stay for Less Motel on U.S. 30. Several rooms were searched according to authorities. That led to the location of methamphetamines, prescription pills, drug paraphernalia, syringes, and several one-pot meth labs.
Starke County Pair Arrested Following False Vehicle Registration
An SUV with a fictitious vehicle registration led to the arrest of two Starke County men.
Stolen Car Leads to Arrest of Knox Man
An 18-year-old Knox man is jailed in connection with two separate cases. Officers from the Knox Police Department were called to Kruz, Inc. on Culver Road Thursday night to investigate a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. Police Chief Harold Smith says officers discovered the vehicle was damaged and determined it had been stolen. Continue reading

Pulaski County Revolving Loan Leads to Job Creation
The Pulaski County Commissioners have approved a loan that they hope will create jobs near Francesville.
The company, which owns land where Clear Decision Filtration Operates north of Francesville, has requested a $110-thousand loan to construct a new building. That site would allow the company to expand their production and make it easier for trucks to back-up to their plant.
