04/20/18 A Knox resident told police that a man test drove a silver 2007 Chrysler Aspen and never returned the vehicle.

04/20/18 A man told police that he was at the jail for bible study on April 16 and when he got home he noticed that there was damage to the front of his vehicle. The sheriff’s department staff was able to pull security footage from outside the building where the accident did in fact occur. The other party, Combined Public, was contacted and representatives reportedly said they would cover the damages.

03/06/18 Police were notified that a man and woman pulled into a resident’s driveway on U.S. 35 and was looking through her home’s windows. The resident made contact with the woman who stated she left something in the garage. The resident assured the woman that there is nothing in the garage. They then got back into their vehicle and traveled south.

03/06/18 Norfolk Southern railroad officials were called after crossing arms and lights were activated on 200 S. west of State Road 23 but there wasn’t a train.

02/20/18 Police were notified of an abandoned extended cab pickup with a toolbox in the back on 700 S. east of 1200 W. in San Pierre. The caller noted that water was halfway up the doors.

12/9/17 Two people were arrested after a shots fired call was reported at the Brantwood Restaurant in North Judson.

12/10/17 Police were notified of a rollover crash on 500 N. west of U.S. 35 in Hamlet.

12/5/17 Lisa Haney, 39, of Knox, was arrested on preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement, disorderly conduct and battery.

12/6/17 Kamien Forker, 20, of Winamac, arrested on preliminary charges of burglary, theft, attempted burglary, and criminal mischief.

12/6/17 Bradley Seman, 18, of Winamac, arrested on preliminary charges of burglary, theft, attempted burglary, and criminal mischief.

12/9/17 Jessica Pace, 32, of Wheatfield, arrested on preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement and disorderly conduct.

12/9/17 Elmer Pace, 36, of Wheatfield, arrested on preliminary charges of resisting law enforcement and disorderly conduct.

North Judson Police Department

12/02/17 – A traffic stop was conducted on a vehicle in the Family Express parking lot. Officer Beishuizen deployed K-9 Gunner who indicated on the presence of narcotics. A search was performed, and a bag of marijuana was discovered. One subject claimed the item and a long form arrest was made.

12/02/17 – Chief Deputy Thomas suspected a warrant subject to be hiding out in the 300 block of High Street in North Judson. Chief Deputy Thomas was assisted by Officer Beishuizen and K-9 Gunner. The wanted subject who had multiple felony warrants from other counties was found hiding inside a garage and was taken into custody without incident.

12/08/2017 – Officer Simpson conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle for an infraction violation. During the investigation the female driver was found to be a habitual traffic violator as well as driving under the influence. The female was taken into custody on those charges.

12/08/17 – Officer Simpson responded to a traffic accident on 600 block of North Oakwood Ave. A vehicle had run off the road and struck a guardrail. During the investigation the driver was found to be impaired and was taken into custody on charges of driving under the influence.

12/09/17 – Officer Simpson responded to the Brantwood restaurant after receiving complaints of shots fired during a fight outside the bar area. It was discovered a handgun had been fired and a female subject was taken into custody and placed on a 48 hour hold pending formal charges. A male subject was also taken into custody and booked on charges of disorderly conduct, public intoxication and resisting arrest. North Judson was assisted by Starke County Sheriffs Department in this case.

12/17/17 – Officer Vanderheof responded to medical call where a male in his 20’s was found to be deceased. Due to no known medical issues an investigation will be conducted pending toxicology.

11/13/17 A resident on 100 S. in Knox called police to report a suspicious vehicle. The occupants were reportedly seen driving slowly around residences and trespassing on properties. The resident observed them run from the residences and drive away.

11/18/17 A North Judson resident told police that she went off the road and into a fence in the 2200 block of W. 800 S. in North Judson.

11/18/17 A caller advised police of a vehicle in a ditch at 25 N. and 600 E. in Knox. Occupants are out of the vehicle with no injuries.
