Incidents:
02/18/12 Pam Cockerell of Valparaiso reported someone stole her cart with her coat and car keys from Bailey’s Discount Center in North Judson.

02/16/12 Erna Eckert of San Pierre told police she received a check that was reported stolen in the mail.

02/15/12 Squatters were reported at the Shorter Estate in the 4600 block of West 400 South in North Judson.

02/13/12 Michael Krick of Knox told police that someone broke into his barn and stole two motorcycles and an ATV.

02/12/12 Wayne Benson of North Judson told police that someone pulled the door off of his mailbox, ripped the flag off of it, and left a silver telephone box lying in his driveway.

02/12/12 Two male subjects reportedly entered a home in the 6900 block of East Old U.S. 30 in Hamlet, sat on the couch, and would not leave or speak to the property owner.

Arrests:
02/17/12 Matthew D. Baker, 34, of Knox, arrested on preliminary charges of Manufacturing a Controlled Substance, Common Nuisance, Possession of Chemical Reagents or Precursors, Possession of Cocaine or Narcotic Drug, Resisting Law Enforcement. Robert P. Singleton, 52, of Knox, was arrested on preliminary charges of Manufacturing a Controlled Substance, Possession of Cocaine or Narcotic Drug, Possession of Chemical Reagents or Precursors, and Maintaining a Common Nuisance. Samuel Wade Singleton, 37, of Knox, was arrested on preliminary charges of Common Nuisance and Possession of Controlled Substance x3. Amber Lynn Rose, 30, of Knox, was arrested on preliminary charges of Manufacturing a Controlled Substance, Common Nuisance, Possession of Chemical Reagents or Precursors, Possession of Cocaine or Narcotic Drugs.

02/16/12 Tenneil Eryn Selner, 32, of South Bend, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Assisting a Criminal. Jeffrey Robert Knoebel, 40, of Grovertown, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Resisting Law Enforcement.

02/15/12 Howard Wyckoff Reed, Sr., 54, of North Judson, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Public Intoxication.

02/13/12 Kelly Marie Carey, 23, of Knox, IN, arrested on an active arrest warrant.

02/12/12 Tammy F. Chmielewski, 47, of Monticello, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Public Intoxication.

From the North Judson Police Department:

Incidents:
02/19/12 A report of a garage being broken into in the 300 block of Franklin Street was made with the North Judson Police. The homeowner was gone for three months and noticed the garage was ransacked when he returned home. The incident remains under investigation.

02/19/12 North Judson police responded to a call of a prowler in the 400 block of Garfield Avenue. No one was located at the time and extra patrols were requested.

02/16/12 A report of a runaway was taken by the North Judson Police Department of a young girl not returning home from school. She was later located and returned home when she left her home again. The next day she was located again and taken home.

02/16/12 The North Judson Dollar General reported to North Judson Police that they had two shoplifters in the store. North Judson Officer James Upsall responded and arrested two females.

02/15/12 A two vehicle mishap occurred on Leslie Street around 6:35 p.m. near the intersection of Luken Street. A vehicle driven by James Grezenko crossed the center line to park on the south side of Leslie, when another passenger car, driven by Meghan Holt, was east bound on Leslie and struck the Grezenko vehicle. Officer James Upsall estimated damages at over $5,000. No injuries were reported.

02/14/12 The North Judson Police Department responded to a house fire at 3942 W. Third Street along with the North Judson Wayne Township Fire Department around 10:13 a.m. The top part of the split level was engulfed in flames. Starke County EMS Technician, Jarrod Boyd, entered the burning structure and located a two-year-old female in an upper floor room. The child was transported to IU Health Starke Hospital and later admitted to Loyola University Hospital in Maywood, IL. The cause of the fire remains under investigation with the Indiana State Fire Marshal’s Office in conjunction with the North Judson Police and the Indiana State Police. A family of ten people lived in the home up until the fire, with only three people home at the time the fire started.

02/14/12 A family member reported the theft of a handgun from a home in the 100 block of Main Street sometime between December 2011 until today.

02/16/12 Anais E. Wilhelm, 21, of 102 W. Ohio Street, LaCrosse, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Theft from an incident at Dollar General in North Judson.

02/16/12 Nicole R. Willford Stroobantt, 19, 304 Franklin Street, North Judson, IN, arrested on a preliminary charge of Theft from an incident at Dollar General in North Judson.

From the Pulaski County Sheriff’s Department:

Incidents:
02/18/12 A car vs. deer accident was reported in the Cass Township area. No injuries were reported and the driver drove the car home.

02/18/12 A car vs. deer accident was reported in the Jefferson Township area. No injuries were reported.

02/17/12 The Winamac Fire Department was called to a woods fire in the Franklin Township area. Fire Chief, Bill Weaver, told dispatch that this is dug-out area and there is nowhere the fire can spread.

02/17/12 A Winamac resident told police that her red binder with confidential papers is missing.

02/17/12 An employee with at the Medaryville Town Hall called police to report that the garbage man came into the office after being hit with something. The man got dizzy while cleaning it up and he got light-headed and started sweating. EMS arrived on scene and discovered that he may have been shot in the neck with a pellet or BB gun. The man was taken to Pulaski Memorial Hospital to have a metal projectile removed from his neck.

02/17/12 A Monterey resident called police to report that she got a letter stating that someone was using her Social Security number to file a report.

02/17/12 A Winamac resident told police that someone shot a hole in the front window.

02/16/12 The Monterey Fire Department was called to a house fire. The resident said he smelled smoke in the house.

02/16/12 A resident called police to report a fraudulent incident. Information came to the complaintant’s home where someone had started to apply for a credit card in the person’s name.

02/16/12 A resident in Jefferson Township reported the theft of an air conditioner and other miscellaneous items.

02/15/12 A car vs. deer accident was reported in the Winamac area. No injuries were reported.

02/15/12 A car vs. deer accident occurred in the Franklin Township area. No injuries were reported.

02/15/12 A Denham resident called police to report that her son hit a deer in a DirecTV van. The driver was not injured.

02/15/12 The Monterey Fire Department was called to a house fire. The caller advised that the fire is in the walls. The caller was told to get everyone out of the house immediately. All units were clear from the scene in one hour.

02/15/12 A Winamac resident reported the theft of a Shih-Tzu puppy.

Incidents:
02/20/12 Frank Kennedy reported a break-in at a residence his real estate agent was showing. The back door at 413 W. Lewis Street was reportedly kicked in, but nothing was reported stolen.

02/16/12 Tiffany Shively reported that a male subject was at her residence and caused damage to the door when he slammed it shut. This case is still under investigation.

02/15/12 Ashley Bradney told police that her apartment had been broken into and some unknown person(s) had thrown a reddish colored liquid on the walls and her newly cleaned carpets. She was moving out of the apartment at the time of the incident.
