Incidents:
05/27/2012 On Sunday morning, North Judson Police discovered a very disrespectful criminal damage incident. The American Legion Post #92 displayed numerous American Flags on the sidewalks throughout town for Memorial Day and other holidays and police found four of the American flags and poles were damaged. Police recovered two American flags and all four of the bent poles. This incident is still being investigated. The North Judson Police Department would like to thank all Veterans, and there families, living and those who gave the ultimate sacrifice of their lives for our freedom that we, as Americans, enjoy today. 05/27/2012 North Judson police responded to a stabbing complaint in the 500 block of Magnolia Street in the early morning hours. When the officer arrived, he observed the male victim sitting on the front porch of a residence bleeding from his right thigh. The male victim did not provide molice with much information. Police believe that this an isolated incident directed towards the male victim. The male victim was transported to IU Starke Hospital by Starke County EMS for a non-life threatening stab wound. The North Judson Police were assisted by the Starke County Sheriff’s Department and Starke County EMS. This incident remains under investigation.

05/26/2012 North Judson police responded to a loud music complaint in the 500 block of Laurel Street. When the North Judson Officer arrived, he did not hear any music.

05/26/2012 North Judson police responded to two dogs locked in a vehicle in the 100 block of Main Street. The vehicle left prior to police arriving at the scene.

05/26/2012 North Judson police received a report of a reckless driving complaint of a black and white older pickup in the area of the North Judson Town Park on Weninger Street. The officer was unable to locate the vehicle.

05/24/2012 Police were dispatched to a property damage accident at the intersection of West Talmer Avenue and Sheridan Street in North Judson. A female was turning into Judson Express and struck the stop sign. She stated that there was a vehicle following her too closely and she cut the corner too sharp and struck the sign. North Judson Police Chief Deputy Joe Budner investigated and listed the total damage at over $2,500.00.

05/23/2012 North Judson police received a theft complaint at the North Judson Middle School. A parent advised North Judson Police Chief Doug Vessely that her daughter’s Apple iPhone was stolen when she was at school. The phone is valued at approximately $400.00. This incident is still being investigated.

05/22/12 North Judson police responded to a loud music complaint in the 300 block of Franklin Street. When North Judson Police Officer Frank Thomas arrived, he did not hear any music. Officer Thomas did speak to a resident at a location that we had complaints before and advised them to keep it down.

05/25/2012 William B. J. Trent, 30, 114 Lane Street Apt. A, North Judson, IN, arrested on a bench warrant through Starke Circuit Court for Forgery and Theft.

Incidents:
05/28/12 A Winamac resident called police to report that a tree is down all the way across the river. He was told to contact the Department of Natural Resources.

05/28/12 A Winamac caller reported a window broken out of a house and there is a shovel sitting there that was taken out of his shed.

05/28/12 A Denham resident called police to report that some unknown person(s) burned their mailbox.

05/27/12 Pulaski County police were called to assist Starke County police on a call of an irrigation cable cut.

05/27/12 A caller told police that his vehicle was vandalized while he was out canoeing in the Monterey area.

05/27/12 Winamac police were advised that some items were stolen from a property in Winamac. Some rubber rafts and tents were stolen from a shed.

05/27/12 A resident in Monterey called police to complain about fireworks being discharged by the neighbor and the debris was getting onto the property.

05/27/12 A Winamac woman reported her vehicle was keyed.

05/26/12 The Buffalo Township Fire Department was called to a wood pallet fire in the Monon area. The fire was spreading to the buildings. The fire rekindled the next day.

05/26/12 The Winamac police were notified of a theft of an irrigator stop.

05/26/12 The Winamac Fire Department was called to a mulch fire.

05/24/12 Pulaski County police were notified that a tree came down and knocked out power in the Denham area and live wires are in the roadway. REMC came to clear the lines and fix the power.

05/24/12 A Francesville resident called police to report that live power lines were hanging over the resident’s carport. NIPSCO was called to fix the problem.

05/24/12 Pulaski County police were called to an accident at 800 South and 1200 West. Two people were arrested on drunk driving charges. Minor injuries were reported.

05/23/12 A resident called police after she smelled a strong odor of ammonia. The Winamac Fire Department was called to the scene and EMA was notified.

Incidents:
05/29/12 Tammy Cowger reported damage to her property and lawn furniture.

05/29/12 Geoffrey Madison was given two ordinance violations for not registering his dog with the City of Knox for dog tags and his dog not being inoculated with a rabies vaccination. His dog was reportedly being kept at his mother’s house and it was not being properly taken care of.

05/28/12 Charles Kehoe reported damage done to his vehicle while parked at Alco. He saw paint transfer from another vehicle on the passenger side of his vehicle.

05/25/12 The owner of Zip Thru Mart on South Heaton Street in Knox reported an alleged theft incident. A written report has been submitted to the Starke County Prosecutor’s office for further review.
