5/8/17 – A resident in the 5000 block of east 200 South in Knox reported the theft of his red Ford Focus by a known suspect and advised he wants to file charges.
5/8/17 – A vehicle versus deer property damage accident was reported on U.S. 35 just north of State Road 10 in Knox.
5/8/17 – A two-vehicle head-on crash was reported at the intersection of 1050 East and 825 North in Walkerton. No injuries were reported, but one driver was cited for not having a license.
5/8/17 – A Knox resident advised her son’s ADHD medication was stolen from her house. She was told officers do not take reports for stolen medications.
5/8/17 – A vehicle versus deer property damage accident was reported in the 1000 block of east 400 South in Knox.
5/9/17 – A Knox resident reported fraudulent purchases from QVC on her bank account.
5/9/17 – A resident in the 100 block of south Broadway in San Pierre reportedly found an animal of some type wrapped up tight and placed in a cooler in front of the door.
5/9/17 – Tires were reported stolen off of a van parked at a residence in the 7700 block of south U.S. 35 in Knox.
5/9/17 – A vehicle versus deer property damage accident was reported near the intersection of State Road 39 and 800 South in North Judson.
5/9/17 – A vehicle versus deer property damage accident was reported on Range Road half a mile south of State Road 8 in Knox.
5/10/17 – A Knox resident reported fraudulent activity on her bank account.
5/10/17 – A Hamlet resident advised her vehicle was stolen sometime Friday or Saturday while she was out of town and is at John’s Garage in LaPorte County, according to the sheriff’s office there.
5/10/17 – A two vehicle property damage accident was reported in the parking lot of Mark Bailey’s Discount Center at the intersection of State Road 10 and Range Road.
5/11/17 – A resident in the 10800 block of East Seneca Lane in Walkerton advised her garbage can was stolen.
5/11/17 – A resident in the 6500 block of south State Road 39 in North Judson reported a dispute with the neighbor who is allegedly throwing sticks into her yard, screaming and threatening her husband.
5/11/17 – A property damage accident was reported at the intersection of State Roads 8 and 23 in Grovertown.
5/11/17 – A garbage truck versus pole property damage accident was reported on Iroquois Road east of State Road 23 in Walkerton.
5/11/17 – The Starke County Sheriff’s Office, Starke County EMS and Hamlet Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle in a ditch on U.S. 30 eastbound at 600 East in Hamlet.
5/11/17 – A single-vehicle property damage accident was reported at the intersection of 500 South and 1100 West in North Judson.
5/12/17 – A caller in the 800 block of south 250 East in Knox called twice regarding juveniles on 4-wheelers running up and down the road speeding and advised he has video of them.
5/12/17 – A caller advised his vehicle was badly vandalized in the 10800 block of east Cherokee Road in Koontz Lake.
5/12/17 – A semi versus tractor property damage accident was reported on U.S. 35 half a mile north of U.S. 30 in Knox.
5/12/17 – A resident in the 11200 block of east Division Road in Knox reported a car was stolen from his yard.
5/12/17 – The Starke County Sheriff’s Office, Starke County EMS, Hamlet Fire Department and Hamlet Police Department responded to a report of a two-vehicle accident on U.S. 30 two miles west of U.S. 35.
5/13/17 – The Starke County Sheriff’s Office, Starke County EMS and Hamlet Fire Department all responded to a report of a motorcycle accident with injuries on U.S. 30 west of U.S. 35 in Hamlet.
5/13/17 – A two-vehicle property damage accident was reported in the 7500 block of east 200 North in Grovertown.
5/13/17 – A resident in the 2800 block of east 100 South in Knox filed a theft report.
5/13/17 – The Starke County Sheriff’s Office, Starke County EMS and Washington Township Fire Department all responded to a two-vehicle property damage accident at the intersection of State Road 8 and 1100 East in Knox.
5/13/17 – The Starke County Sheriff’s Office and Starke County EMS responded to a hit-and-run accident with minor injuries in at the intersection of U.S. 421 South and State Road 10 in San Pierre.
5/14/17 – A property damage accident was reported on U.S. 30 west of State Road 23 in Grovertown.
5/14/17 – The Railroad Township Fire Chief asked to file a theft report in the 7500 block of south U.S. 421 in San Pierre.
5/15/17 – A vehicle versus deer property damage accident was reported on State Road 10 at 750 West in North Judson.
5/15/17 – A vehicle versus deer property damage accident was reported on State Road 8 near State Road 23 in Knox.
5/15/17 – A resident in the 5300 block of south CR 210 in Knox asked to file a theft report.
5/15/17 – A North Judson resident reported being scammed. She advised she bought a dog online and sent money via Western Union.
5/15/17 – A property damage accident was reported in the 4400 block of north 800 East in Grovertown. The caller advised there are no injuries, but the vehicle is on its side. The Starke County Sheriff’s Office, Hamlet and Koontz Lake Fire Departments responded.
5/15/17 – A resident in the 10300 block of east State Road 8 in Knox advised her house and pole barn were broken into and some items are missing from the pole barn.
5/16/17 – A caller advised a boat cover and two hoses were slashed with a knife in the 5500 block of south CR 210 in Knox.
5/16/17 – A resident in the 11100 block of east Cherokee Road in Walkerton reported the theft of lawn furniture.
5/16/17 – A resident in the 6000 block of south Range Road in North Judson reported his neighbor cracked his vehicle windshield while mowing the lawn.
5/16/17 – A Starke County Sheriff’s Deputy reportedly recovered a stolen weed eater, rake and gas can in Ora.
5/16/17 – A two-vehicle property damage accident was reported at the intersection of 350 East and 500 South in Knox. The Starke County Sheriff’s Office, Starke County EMS and Bass Lake Fire Department all responded.
5/16/17 – A resident in the 8000 block of north Tecumseh Road in Koontz Lake advised his neighbor reached out his home window and shot the tire out on his trailer.
5/17-17 – The Starke County Sheriff’s Office, Starke County EMS, Koontz Lake and Hamlet Fire Departments all responded to a report of an accident with injuries involving two tractor-trailers in front of the Grovertown Truck Stop on U.S. 30.
5/17/17 – A vehicle versus deer property damage accident was reported on U.S. 30 east of the Grovertown Truck Stop.
5/17/17 – A vehicle versus pole property damage accident was reported in the Save-A-Lot parking lot in Knox.
5/17/17 – A resident in the 2700 block of south Range Road in North Judson advised two men were fighting in her driveway.
5/17/17 – Several boats tied to the dock at Bass Lake Marina in the 5000 block of east CR 210 in Knox were reportedly vandalized.
5/18/17 – A Knox resident came to the Starke County Sheriff’s Office to file a forgery report.
5/18/17 – A resident in the 2700 block of Airstream Drive in North Judson advised someone cut tree branches on her property and someone put logs on her property.
5/18.17 – A North Judson Police Department officer attempted to stop a pickup truck driven by Jeremy Lee Hansen, 34, of North Judson at the intersection of Talmer and Silver Streets. A pursuit ensued eastbound on State Road 10 through Starke County, with Hansen reportedly firing shots out the rear window of the truck at the Starke County and North Judson officers who were in pursuit. He continued into LaPorte County, where he shot himself on County Road 2300 South east of U.S. 421 near LaCrosse. Hansen died as a result of the gunshot wound.
5/19/17- An injury accident was reported in the 3300 block of north 900 East in Knox.
5/20/17 – Starke County Clerk Vicki Cooley reported counterfeit money was received in the clerk’s office.
5/20/17 – Railroad Township Trustee Mandy Thomason advised several vehicles are parked in the grassy commons area on the east side of U.S. 421 near the Oasis. She says they are not supposed to be parked there.
5/20/17 – A North Judson resident reported receiving a scam telephone call regarding a problem with her credit card.
5/20/17- A resident in the 8100 block of north Tippecanoe Drive in Walkerton reported a bench was stolen off of her porch.
5/20/17 – A resident in the 11000 block of east Mohawk Road in Walkerton reported the theft of several items from her garage by a known suspect.
5/21/17 – A single-vehicle property damage accident was reported on CR 210 north of State Road 10 in Knox.
5/21/17 – A vehicle break-in was reported in the 5600 block of Meyers Street in Knox.
5/21/17- A vehicle break-in was reported in the 5700 block of East Shady Lane in the Bass Lake area.
5/21/17 – Several vehicles were broken into in the 6400 block of south Eastern Drive in Bass Lake.
5/21/17 – A resident in the 6100 block of south State Road 10 in Knox advised his vehicle was broken into the previous night.
5/21/17 – A resident in the 2700 block of west 700 South in North Judson advised her vehicle was broken into the previous night.
5/21/17 – A resident in the 7500 block of east 300 North in Grovertown reported items stolen from a pole barn.
5/21/17 – A caller in the 300 block of North U.S. 421 in San Pierre reported damage to the top of his father’s convertible during an attempted vehicle break-in. Nothing is believed to have been stolen.
5/22/17 – A resident in the 10900 block of east Ostego Lane in Walkerton believes he found marijuana growing on his property.
5/22/17 – The Starke County Sheriff’s Office, Starke County EMS and Koontz Lake Fire Department all responded to a report of a vehicle off the roadway on U.S. 30 near 1100 East in Grovertown.
5/22/17 – The Starke County Sheriff’s Office, Starke County EMS, Bass Lake and North Judson Fire Departments all responded to a report of a single-vehicle injury accident on State Road 10 in front of Konrad and Son Cabinets in North Judson.
5/22/17 – A vehicle versus deer property damage accident was reported on U.S. 35 just north of State Road 10 in Knox.
5/23/17 – A vehicle versus deer property damage accident was reported in the 3100 block of North State Road 23 in Knox.
5/23/17 – A hit-and-run property damage accident was reported in the 6500 block of south 375 West in North Judson, with significant damage to a sewer lift station owned by the town of North Judson.
5/23/17 – A resident in the 5000 block of east 800 South in Knox advised her grandmother’s pills were stolen. The Starke County Sheriff’s Office does not do reports for stolen medications.
5/23/17 – A resident in the 5000 block of west 800 South in North Judson advised someone has been in her house in the last two weeks and is also taking her mail.
5/23/17 – Multiple agencies responded to a report of a two-vehicle, head-on collision in the 7600 block of State Road 23 in Walkerton. No injuries were reported.
5/24/17 – A resident in the 11000 block of east Mohawk Road in Walkerton advised her garage was broken into.
5/25/17 – A vehicle versus deer property damage accident was reported on 100 North east of U.S. 35 in Knox.
5/25/17 – A Knox resident reported her daughters, ages 18 and 16, are being cyber bullied.
5/26/17 – A Knox resident advised she received counterfeit $20 bills at her yard sale.
5/26/17 – A two-vehicle property damage accident was reported in the 3100 block of south 200 East in Knox.
5/26/17 – A two-vehicle property damage accident was reported in the parking lot of the Koontz Lake Library.
5/26/17 – A vehicle versus deer property damage accident was reported on U.S. 30 near the Phillips 66 gas station in Hamlet.
5/27/17 – A vehicle break-in was reported in the 2500 block of east 700 South in North Judson. The property owner gave chase and provided a description of the suspect.
5/27/17 – A North Judson resident reported receiving a possible scam telephone call from someone claiming to be with Medicare.
5/27/17 – A two-vehicle injury accident was reported at the intersection of State Road 23 and U.S. 30 in Grovertown. Starke County EMS, the Koontz Lake Fire Department, Hamlet Police Department and Starke County Sheriff’s Office all responded.
5/27/17 – A resident in the 1000 block of west 700 South in North Judson advised someone went through their vehicles the previous night and took about $140.
5/27/17 – A property damage accident involving a golf cart was reported on U.S. 35 north of the Bass Lake Fire Station.
5/27/17 – A vehicle versus deer property damage accident was reported on U.S. 30 at 900 East in the eastbound lane.
5/27/17 – A hit-and-run accident was reported in the 9500 block of east 750 North in Walkerton.
5/28/17 – A jet ski was reported stolen in the 3700 block of south CR 210 in Knox.
5/28/17 – A resident in the 3500 block of east Debby Drive in Knox called to file a vandalism report.
5/28/17 – A resident in the 5200 block of south Holiday Street in North Judson advised his dog was attacked by the neighbor’s three pit bulls.
5/28/17 – A resident in the 5200 block of east State Road 10 in San Pierre reported people riding 4-wheelers on her property without permission.
