Arrest Made in Double Fatality Crash

La Porte County officers have arrested a New Carlisle man following a double fatality crash on Friday, Oct. 6.

According to police, 40-year-old Tron Gorbonosenko drove his Ford Mustang head-on into a Honda Odyssey occupied by Don and Angie Kaczmarek. They died as a result of the collision, according to the report. Gorbonosenko was critically injured and was flown from the scene to Memorial Hospital in South Bend where he remained for a week. Victims of Fatal U.S. 20 Crash Identified, As Investigation Continues

Police have released the names of the two people killed in a crash on U.S. 20 Friday night. Don Kaczmarek, 47, and his wife Angie Kaczmarek, 49, of Michigan City were killed, when a 2006 Ford Mustang driven by Tron Gorbonosenko, 40, of New Carlisle reportedly crashed head-on into their Honda Odyssey. It happened around 7:40 p.m. Friday near Bootjack Road, according to the LaPorte County Sheriff’s Office.
